Meet the SIFF Committee

Ruth China-Roberts is a Hailsham born and bred photographer and film producer.

 

She’s worked on both sides of the camera for the BBC, as a supporting artist in the drama ‘Into the Fire’ and as runner, assistant location manager and assistant floor management for several comedy programmes, including ‘One Foot in the Grave’ (1990-2001) and ‘Nelson’s Column’ (1994-5). 

Her bread and butter role has been working with East Sussex County Council in various positions, and has managed £1m budgets in her roles in the Highways Team, often co-ordinating emergency situations. 

She is now joint director of ‘Shining Knight Productions’, who have just produced their first music video for band 4 Blind Nuns. She has also recently had her photographs exhibited at ‘Gallery North’, and has assisted Hailsham Community College with tutoring their students in drama productions for several years, for productions at The Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne.

 

Having been a board member of Hailsham Pavilion since January 2023, she is now acting as their Press Officer.
